Cross tattoo design

Lately I've been getting commissions at school to do tattoos...which is weird. I'm not used to doing designs like this.

I did one commission before this one, but I never scanned it. It was this Irish pride thing. Something like that. He's really happy with it, and he's planning on getting it done as soon as he saves up the money.

This one's for a kiddy that paid me and told me to make a cross without really giving me any details. I'm going to keep designing new crosses until he finds one he likes, I guess. This is my first attempt. The cross on the left is the one that will end up being the final. The one on the right was traced onto tracing paper and I -very- quickly and sloppily tried to show what I want it to look like in the end. Mm...any suggestions? This is really my first attempt at anything like this.
